I truly believe in this Centre and what it will do for families in the future.
I believe in the vision for HEARTS to become a preeminent leader of family care for families/individuals that are struggling around the world. What HEARTS offers is a chance for people to give themselves a second chance today, and the opportunity to explore and find the best parts of themselves as well as the opportunity to make the best of the circumstances they are exposed to. This will hopefully one day allow them to return the compassion, love and generosity that once saved them
How has HEARTS personally saved me? I have been on disability for the last year. I have been in extreme pain in both my back and my legs. I have had countless injections, countless tests, I have been on multiple medications. Nothing has worked , it caused me to be depressed. I could no longer play ball, I could no longer work as a pediatric nurse . These are my passions, both which I have been doing for almost 30 years and I can not do them. Focusing on HEARTS has gave me a purpose. No matter how bad I feel there’s other people worse off than myself.
Our main goal is about fostering/ building a community of people helping people. If every person does just one good deed the city could be a beautiful place to live. The Centre will help to lift people’s spirits, self-esteem it will give them hope and let them know we are here to give them a hand up always. We will not just give you a hand out and send you on your way to figure things out. We will be there to offer our guidance, support, and direction to ensure you are on a better path. One of love, healing Respect and self confidence . From our heart to yours. Hearts to Heart

I recommend Hearts Centre, they are an amazing one. They have helped many families (including mine). They have provided food hampers, clothing, furniture and what ever else was needed for many people. They have given so much, have worked tirelessly and have gone out of their way to provide what was needed for so many people. They have given me an opportunity to give back to a community that has helped me and others in so many ways and I hope Hearts will be here for a long time, to continue helping and providing for many. Thank you to Theresa, Logan and the many volunteers, YOU DO AN AMAZING JOB!

This organization is crucial to our community. The compassionate and hard working volunteers, go above and beyond. From general overall help with essentials throughout the year, to the Christmas and Easter Campaigns. I have never seen another Christmas Campaign like this one, I was speechless the year I recieved. This by far is one of the most important organizations in our city. It gives families hope, when they feel hopeless.

This organization continues to surprise me each and every year by how many families it supports. My family has been involved with this organization for over six years as sponsors during the Christmas Campaign, as well as Easter and other yearly events. What I love the most is the personal connections made, the friendships created, and knowing that you truly are making a difference through your sponsorship. I love that you can personalize your Christmas gift giving so it is uniquely special for each family you support. I love that there is the potential to remain connected with families you meet, and that the sponsorship does not have to be a “one-off” deal. Friendships are built. This group makes it easy to give what you can, whether it is a small monetary donation to help someone struggling, or a donation of second-hand bikes or clothing, or a full Christmas meal/gifts. You are encouraged to give when, what and if you can.
This community based, volunteer-led organization is one-of-a-kind, and definitely fills the hearts of so many people each year.

There was a time where I needed help, and this team came at a time during the holidays where I was at my lowest and saved me with the generosity they provided and showed me that humanity still does exist. I have at time also been able to donate and have given back for the help I got and to provide another with the same feeling. I also have been in the in-between spot and the draws that I have been able to enter and win have helped in so many ways with a hand up. This organization is all about community and village.

I started accessing Hearts at the beginning of the year and what a huge support hearts has been. I have a large family. We have 6 in our house (3adults and 3 kids), sometimes we have all 6 of our children. Being able to feed so many kids has been rather difficult since my husbands injury and myself on medical leave. Hearts has been an amazing resource that has helped us in between food bank runs.
All my children have hit growth spurts and out grew their winter gear. Being on income support has limited our funds and without Hearts my children wouldn't have appropriate winter attire. Attire to have my oldest daughter return to school with Confidence and pride.
My husband and i have been able to find clothing for ourselves. I have found interview clothing, casual and dressy clothing. Its amazing how good you can feel with something new to you on your back.
Besides Confidence building, Hearts has provided one of the best things for us, cheaper gas bill. I tried everything but our gas bill was always really high. With the household accessories that Hearts provides, the use of our gas stove diminished and allowed us a bit of financial relief. I would never bad thought of a George foreman grill, nor would I have ever had the spare cash to afford such a wonderful household appliance. We unplugged a few things to even out the electricity being used.
Hearts has provided some of the most core essentials my family needs to survive. With unemployment rates increasing the need for resources like Hearts rises. There is no other service in Edmonton that for 5 dollars you can get 15 items, a basket of household items , a set of bedding and food. The food bank doesn't offer families enough food for more than 2 weeks at a time. So for the inability to have food to last a month really highlights the needs for Hearts. Families are struggling more than ever right now.
Hearts is amazing and Teresa is doing everything she can to provide these services. Its been difficult to access resources during the times Hearts has been shut down due to not having a stable location. I strongly feel that if enough awareness is raised and funds gathered Hearts could make a huge impact and difference in more families lives.
Thanks for listening i hope that this helps and that something positive can happen to give you a stable location soon.
Thanks for being awesome!

I've been very fortunate to once again drop by the Hearts Thrift Center and spend a few hrs volunteering a small part of my week.
Combining that with spending some valued time with my family ..particularly my grandson 6 month old Kassian...Has caused me to realize my true wealth.
Several weeks ago ...it became time to actually look at the world through the eyes of others.
On my commute home from the Center.. .I handed out cards and utilized the 2.5 hrs promoting the benefits that Hearts extends onto the unfortunate.
Being there and actually being able to witness the significant amount of kindness and graditide that
is constant .
I've decided to definitely associate my life with the ingredients and to be thankful for people like Teresa and of course the other volunteers

I am a sponsor for the campaigns I sponsor through this nonprofit because the commitment to provide for less fortunate people is genuine. Teresa is the most non judgemental person I know. She sees the need and spends all her days doing everything possible to meet those needs. You can sit with Teresa, her family and the volunteers who are 100 percent commited to this cause, and the conversation always turns to how they can help even more. Even over Christmas, Teresa's thoughts turn to those she helps. I've volunteered at the free yard sale each summer and watch all the faces come through. Year after year, we watch the children grow. Teresa takes in all the stories of struggle and pain. overwhelmed at times, she transmutes their pain into service. it is truly a family and I am forever grateful I know them. May God Bless you and keep you Teresa! much love....many blessings!

I was helped, not just by donations, but also mentally and emotionally…
Theresa and her son took the time to sit down with me and listen/ talk with me when I became emotional and overwhelmed.
They absolutely showed me that they care…in every way possible.
I remember the feeling of acceptance and love even though I was a stranger and just met them, they took the time and care to listen to me and really show that I mattered.
I have nothing but good reviews and respect for them…thank you

I’ve been on both sides—needing help and being able to give it—and Hearts truly makes a difference. They are a compassionate, community-driven organization that supports families through programs like Christmas and Easter Campaigns, 21 Days of Giving, and bike donations. Their work eases financial stress, provides essentials, and creates meaningful memories for families. With Hearts, there’s no shame in asking—just a community that genuinely shows up. Highly recommend

I have been volunteering with Hearts for approx 12 years now. Started out sorting clothes in a basement. It is amazing feeling being able to help someone elses life be a little easier. Although I still pickup and sort donations to post my major focus is doing up food hampers a couple times a week to provide food or help people stretch their food budget.
It makes my heart happy giving a hand up to others.

Hearts has been there for my family numerous times. Im a single mom on Aish and the struggle is real. It is so amazing to have a community group you can rely on to lend a hand in your time of need. From food hampers...to Christmas help...to household items...I have found myself lifted by this group again and again. Thank you to Teresa and the volunteers and sponsors who make this group so strong. We are all blessed by your unwavering support! Thank you

I am a senior raising two beautiful grandbaby's 5 and 2 years old I am on old age pension. I got custody of the children little over a year my babies came with nothing! Hearts helped me lots I got beds, bedding, clothes , food and toys for them. Without Hearts my babies wouldn't have anything. My 5 year old girl loves going there to shop because although used they are new to her. Without Hearts I wouldn't of been able to afford all the stuff I needed for them. Teresa has a big heart and her and Logan have donated so much of their time doing these things for families in need! I wish Hearts will reopen in the new year..for families that really need there help

So I wanted to make this post a little while ago, but i wanted to thank everyone at the hearts thrift center that referred me to take my dad to find some business attire. He ended up finding a few very high end suites, trench coats, business causual clothing and even dress shoes that fit perfectly that helped changed his whole life..his $5 make over story lol. He cut his hair and got a job 3 days later and got promoted 3 days into training and was able to get his own place and we were lucky enough to get him set up from the dishes and blankets and stuff donated to the hearts thrift center! It's a amazing organization! He is a brand new man and I have my dad back on his feet! Thank you so much!!

I first found this group when scrolling FB about five years ago. Right away, I noticed the compassion for and dedication to the less fortunate in our community and knew I had found a way to make a difference in someone’s life.
I learned that Teresa Rocque works tirelessly to organize the various campaigns (Christmas, Easter, bikes, clothing, garage “sales” —— and the list goes on). I learned that she does all of this through a volunteer network and social media presence. I learned there are no (or few) corporate sponsorships. And, I learned that the need is greater than ever as the cost of even basics rises yearly.
There are many agencies that help people but I choose to support Hearts because of the many ways people receive help through Hearts. I regularly tell people that I support this nonprofit - not for praise or recognition - but because it brings awareness to the wonderful work Hearts does.
I urge you too to check out this group - you will be amazed

Without community help, I would be in so much despair. My grandkids clothing, school supplies, and so much more have come from you guys. I will forever be grateful. What a wonderful group, thank you so so much for everything you have done and continue to do!

Not only recommend, but commended for the amazing work and community connection, with many folks struggling, this is a guiding light to the meaning of community. This reaches further than city limits. Please share and consider helping @Hearts Centre as the work they do and the giving has greatly impacted and done for many whether it be donations, of time, items, anything that can help the projects throughout the year. We can all work together to keep this going For us it was a canister of formula at Christmas when job losses and financial distress occurred, but it meant we could stretch it to the next payday and feed our little without added worries.
From all of us, thank you from the depths of utmost gratitude .
Keep this going.

I started with the Hearts Centre by donating clothing and household items we no longer needed so someone else could enjoy them. Later, I was blessed to receive a Christmas meal hamper for my family while unemployed. Teresa and her team do incredible work supporting individuals and families with holiday meals, clothing, bicycles, and so much more. The volunteers are caring, dedicated, and truly make a difference in the community. The Hearts Centre is such a blessing, and I’m so grateful for all they do and happy to continually support their efforts.

I would just like to start out by thanking Teressa Rocque for starting a resource that is much needed in Edmonton. I have been accessing HEARTS even before an actual location opened up. At the time Teressa was doing this out of her own home, on her own time, and even with her own money. I was very happy to see HEARTS turn into a physical location where Teressa would no longer be swimming and sleeping in all the donations that consumed her home. As a volunteer, I could see that this help was much needed with all the donations that would come in. There would be bags upon bags and even truck loads. I highly recommend giving a little bit of your time if you have accessed this center or plan to in the future. I volunteer because not only do I access the centre but this is really the only way I can give back to Teressa and the community and I have been lucky to be sponsored by a family through HEARTS. Without them and HEARTS and everyone who is a part of this, my children’s Christmas would not have been as bright. I am super thankful for this as an extension of HEARTS! I have had a rough two years and this definitely helps my family out. I plan to continue to access this centre and volunteer my time. It’s nice to see all these donations come in and have it available to those who need it. It was a relief to know that after splitting with my son’s dad 2 years ago, that I wouldn’t have to worry about clothing my children or worry about maybe needing to grab a new set of glasses, or even to find books and toys for my children without having to worry about spending that money. This place even would put some non-perishable food out on some shelves. Without this place, I am not sure where I would be or how much more worried I would be. Finances have been a struggle being on reduced student loans and no child support and no other help. This place has been a blessing because it has helped clothe my children and myself; as clothing even at the prices at second hand stores were too much for myself. Even being able to access those extra little items to bring a little joy has made life the past two years more bearable. I have also been able to spread the words to friends and family about HEARTS who need a place like this to access. This place is much needed in our city and so many people access this centre. I believe in HEARTS and I hope to see it flourish! I would love to see this place be a successful permanent centre. HEARTS has sincerely helped my family and also in return I donate my own items and even bring back items after I have been able to enjoy them, such as a toy or some clothing etc. Thank goodness for the power of social media where this all started! Whether you are able to volunteer or donate or even need to use the centre, just know you are helping in ways you may never know!

Two years ago I was a recipient of the Christmas hamper. the gifts and the amount of food and gift cards lasted us at least 2 months. All the extras they give you really help out during a time where money between Christmas and child tax in January. Last year I thought I could do it on my own. My kids were just happy they got one big thing as I knew I had enough for the Christmas dinner. When times are tough they have been there to help out. I do appreciate them so much. The help with low income families is truly a blessing and muchly appreciate. Thank you guys from the bottom of our hearts all that you do.

I want to recommend Hearts Centre as a local charity supporting families. They go above and beyond to help families in need. They don’t discriminate anyone there. I 100% recommend heart if it wasn’t for them I don’t know what I would have done for Christmas. They give their all at what they do and the work they put on when they have their own families is phenomenal. I love this campaign.

I've been on both sides of being able to help, and needing the help.
I truly believe Hearts helps to better the lives of many. To relieve some of the stress and heartaches that life bring us, while allowing us to help others in any way we can too.
Hearts is a community focused organization, that's led to many long lasting connections. They are dedicated to supporting families through things like the Christmas and Easter Campaigns, the 21 Days of Giving, and a bike donation program. They are helping to alleviate financial burdens by ensuring access to basic necessities, and then some!
This organization’s efforts significantly impact the people they've helped, by reducing stress and financial strain for families. By finding or offering support through hardships. By providing Christmas and Easter meals that wouldn't be had otherwise, along with gifts and joy through the memories people can create with their families.
With Hearts, there is no shame in asking. Its amazing to see how the community rises up and helps. They really put their whole hearts and souls into running these programs and the community page. I recommend them to anyone and everyone I meet.

The hearts group is without a doubt the best group around for helping people. I have been helped more than once and don't know how I would have made it through those times if the hearts organization wasn't there.
The most recent help I received was through the Christmas campaign...my family was gifted a full Christmas dinner...it was the most amazing gift . we wouldn't have had that dinner without the help from hearts/Christmas campaign...
Thank you to Teresa and all the helpers. you guys have helped many people and I'm grateful for all you do.

Hearts has impacted our families life in many ways and for several years
The list is just a part of what we’ve been able to benefit from Hearts over the years
Received these blessings-
*clothing household items and furniture numerous times 2021-2025
*4 kids bikes to give to 4 foster children in need
*kids toys
*food 2 times in 2 years
*Xmas hamper in 2025
HEARTS has also provided a volunteer opportunities for many members of our family. This also gave the developmentally delayed persons in our family a chance to be part of an amazing group of people by volunteering along side of the HEARTS team. Weve volunteered with picking up donations sorting and delivering donations.
We have donated to campaigns and fundraising events. This has been fulfilling work and hope the HEARTS Centre can be that for the community again.

My apartment was condemned in December, in the freezing cold. Hearts had just opened and was able to help my daughter and I with curtains and housewares and some clothes to get me back on my feet in a new home.. if hearts wasn’t there it would have costed me over $200-300 to replace things I lost from the apartment we had lived in.. this kind of money I didn’t have.. Thank you Hearts
