The Campaign to Empower the Community: Dignity is Not a Luxury

In a perfect world, no child would go without a bed, and no family would choose between groceries and warm winter gear. But for many in our community, these are daily realities.

The Campaign to Empower the Community exists to bridge that gap. We believe that everyone deserves more than just "getting by"—they deserve the items that make a house a home and a life manageable. Through our vibrant thrift and donation community, we turn local generosity into immediate relief.

How We Make an Impact

We’ve streamlined the way we give to ensure that help gets exactly where it needs to go, fast.

  • The ISO (I’m Seeking Out) System: In our [Facebook Group], individuals can post up to four specific needs—furniture, clothing, baby supplies, or kids’ sporting equipment.

  • A Fair Shake: We prioritize those at the top of our list to ensure everyone gets their turn. If an item doesn't have an active request, we host a randomized draw or store it in our inventory for future emergencies.

  • Food to Warm Hearts: we host draws for food hampers at least weekly, as food insecurity is a common concern in our community

  • The Power of Partnership: We collaborate with groups like the St. Albert Salvation Army, who redirect furniture donations to us, ensuring no piece of wood or fabric goes to waste.

“Every little heartbeat counts.” Whether it’s 800 bags of clothing from donors like Chantal Gregoire, or winter gear for 30 people from veterans Tammy Duffin Gallant and Stu Pawluk, every donation changes a life.

Proof in the Numbers

Our community doesn't just talk; we show up. In the Summer of 2025, we hosted 7 Weekends of Giving.

  • 700+ Families supported through free "garage sale" events.

  • 400 People fully clothed for the season.

  • Countless Kids sent back to school with the gear and confidence they deserve.
